Final Exam – Fall 2013

Advanced Computers, Database Management, Software Suites

One of the changes I have to deal with starting next year is paying a monthly subscription rate for software like Microsoft Office and my Adobe products like Photoshop,etc.  We usually purchase the software at one set price per computer until I decide it’s time to upgrade the software.  There is no monthly subscription.  Changing to a monthly subscription could become too costly in school settings.  The following articles explain this and give you the pros and cons of this change.  You will also read about alternatives to Microsoft Office and Adobe.

Read the following articles.  Discuss with classmates if you wish, and then write me one or two paragraphs (at the most) telling me what you think I should do next year and why.  Read carefully and then justify your opinion to me. 

I want to know what you think.  I am not going to worry about grammar/sentence structure.
